1. Don’t Buy Too Many Excursions. Look for some of the Free Options. You can always go to a free beach or walk around the city/port.
  2. Look for other options for Excursions. Do your research. You don’t necessarily have to book through your Cruise Line. There are many reputable companies that provide great Excursions. Be mindful, though, if you use an outside company, the Ship is not obligated to wait for you if you are late getting back to the ship.
  3. Don’t buy the Drink Package if you aren’t a big drinker.
  4. Buy the Drink Package if you are a big drinker. If you think you’ll drink 15 drinks per day, then the drink package is a must.
  5. Bring your own drinks if allowed. 1 Bottle of Wine per Adult. 1 12-Pack of Soda per person.
  6. Don’t buy the Soda Package unless you need to drink multiple sodas every few hours.
  7. Bring every toiletry you may need. Buying from the Ship’s Stores can get expensive.
  8. Use a Points Card for Onboard Spending. Many Credit Cards offer 2x or even 3x on Cruise Purchases.
  9. Don’t buy full price Spa Treatments. There are often sales when the ship is in port.
  10. Don’t tip twice for Spa Treatments. Ask if a Gratuity is included.
  11. Keep your phone in Airplane mode. Cruise ship charges can be extremely high if not using the Wi-Fi Package.
  12. Don’t pay for Photo Packages. Take your own photos, make your own memories. Purchasing pictures from the Cruise Line can be very expensive.
  13. Use Points for the Cruise or Flights if you have them.
  14. Ask for Comps in the Casino! You can often get Free Drinks or Free Dinners in Specialty Restaurants if you are Gambling.
