1 – Caye Caulker – You’ll find warm and gracious locals on this five-mile-long island, where the primary mode of transport is by bicycle or golf cart. Join a snorkeling tour to discover the fantastic marine life, including manatees, stingrays, sharks, and turtles. For those interested in fishing, you can have your catch cooked at one of the restaurants. You’ll also find street grills cooking up great seafood until late afternoon. Caye Caulker is busiest from January to April during Belize’s dry season. Stay a night or more on this island, and you’ll quickly realize why it’s a favorite among travelers seeking a tropical paradise.
2 – Secret Beach – The best beach on Ambergris Caye to spend the day swimming, lounging, eating and sipping on tropical cocktails and soak up some sun.
3 – The Split – Great place to spend the day! There is a great bar and grill called The Lazy Lizard that has excellent food and cold drinks. The split is a body of water separating North and South Caye Caulker. It is a great place to snorkel for free. There is a dock for sun bathing and easy access to the water. There is also a fishing area for those that want to try their luck. Kayaks and paddle boards are available for rent.
4 – Big Rock Falls – Magnificent, monumental and massive, Big Rock stands tall with a small pool at the bottom of it, flowing into a bigger cenote that rushes over large rocks.
5 – San Ignacio Market – The San Ignacio Farmers Market in Belize is a vibrant and bustling marketplace that offers visitors a true taste of the local culture.
6 – Belizean Arts Gallery – Belizean Arts Gallery was founded over 30 years ago by an artist. The store which is located deep in Fido’s Courtyard features a diverse collection of original paintings by leading artists together with artesano jewelry in gold and silver, wood and slate carvings, ceramics, Garifuna drums, Mayan masks, fabrics and much more. Open daily until late. Paintings can be rolled for traveling or shipped.
7 – Rio On Pools – Rio On Pools has the most aesthetic waterfalls and fresh-water pools in the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. You can experience paradise in Belize!
8 – The Belize Sign Monument – The Belize Sign Monument is a popular tourist attraction located against an ocean backdrop. This location offers a relaxing and scenic place to hang out alone or with friends while watching the Caribbean Sea. Visitors can take pictures of the colorful letters spelling “Belize” or just enjoy the view. Traditional fishermen can also be spotted throwing their nets in hopes of catching fish. The monument features a little playground for kids, and nearby locals sell fresh water for only one dollar.
9 – Black & White Cultural Entertainment Center – At our cultural center we invite families, guests, visitors and tourists to come in to see local Belizean culture. In our country there are many ethnic groups yet we are all Belizeans. One of the most dynamic and interesting ethnic groups is the Garifuna culture. There is an indoor space as well as outdoor space. It is cultural decorated in traditional Garifuna style, demonstrating our unique artifact, and with the instruments we use, when playing music. This gives our food an authentic flavor which is enjoyed by many. Fish is our main diet so fish is served in many forms, and is always available.
