FREE THINGS IN CURACAO

  • 1. Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge – Swings wide many times daily to allow access to one of the busiest ports in the world. It also separates the two halves of the city.
  • 2. Grote Knip – Grote Knip is a beach on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, located at the western side of the island, between the villages of Westpunt and Lagun. The beach gives way to a small lagoon between high rocks. It is freely accessible to the public.
  • 3. Punda – Fall in love with the historic neighborhood Punda. Streets that are full of life and colors; fantastic murals and colorful building all over the town. Punda is the location of the world famous Handelskade: the waterfront collection of multi-colored buildings that has become Curaçao’s most characteristic image.
  • 4. Playa Lagun – Playa Lagun is a beach on Curaçao, located near the village of Lagún. Play Lagun is located in a small bay. Surrounding the bay, an apartment complex has been built. The beach is used as a starting point for snorkeling. There is a snack bar and also a restaurant and dive school.
  • 5. Playa Kalki – Inlet on the less-developed western side of the island.
  • 6. Playa Piskado/Playa Grandi – Playa Piscado or Playa Grandi is a beautiful dive site near the town of Westpunt in Curacao. Playa Piscado is covered with beautiful fields of corals and gorgonians. Snappers, trumpet fish and turtles are permanent residents. The dive site is famous for its turtles.
  • 7. Kokomo Beach – Kokomo is the ideal beach to enjoy a quiet day with the whole family, have a great lunch, try one of our delicious cocktails or just fall in love with the cristal clear water!! We have lounges to relax, read a book, or just hang out with an ice-cold beer! Kokomo has no entrance-fee and we probably have the best beach chairs on the island. Kokomo also has a professional dive center that can show you the amazing underwater world of Kokomo Beach.
  • 8. Handelskade – Harborfront street lined with brightly painted 18th century buildings that today, house boutiques, art galleries and sidewalk cafes.
  • 9. Daaibooi Beach – A romantic little beach surrounded by towering cliffs.
  • 10. Renaissance Mall & Rif Fort – This waterfront entertainment center and shopping area is located at the entrance of St. Anna Bay, a dramatic position at the harbor gateway.
