  • 1. Mero Beach – One of the few beaches on Dominica with amenities, Mero Beach is a favorite of locals, especially on Sunday. This silver-gray beach can be found near the village of Mero. Calm, warm waters make for an incredible swim.
  • 2. Dominica Botanic Gardens – The forty acres of garden include orchid trees, bottle palms, the Carib Wood tree and an unidentifiable no-name tree.
  • 3. Morne Bruce – A wooded mountain with sweeping panoramic views at its higher elevations
  • 4. Soufriere Bay – Located south of the capital Roseau, this is a sandy beach that appeals to scuba divers.
  • 5. Old Market Square – A historic cobbled square often crowded with vegetable vendors.
  • 6. Toucari Beach – Sandy bay north of Portsmouth. There is good snorkeling here and the water is calm. The bay and area has excellent view across to Guadeloupe and the Saints.
  • 7. Scott’s Head Pinnacles – Steeply sloping pinnacles and a cluster of coral and marine life make this a great dive.
  • 8. Chaudiere Pool – Chaudiere is a beautiful, natural pool carved out of grey rock, fed by a calmly cascading downpour from the river above. This refreshing swimming hole emanates from the Hampstead River in the picturesque community of Bense. The pool is the perfect way to escape from the surrounding heat and be embraced by nature. Thick forest hovers above and fresh river millets can be seen jumping up the tumbling waterfall. Jump in from cliffside and be caressed by calm river torrents in yet another one of Dominica’s fresh water wonders.
  • 9. St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral – This 18th-century cathedral is a major landmark in Roseau.
