- 1. Grenfell Historic Properties – Grenfell Historic Properties operates the Grenfell Interpretation Centre, Grenfell Handicrafts, Lady Anne’s Tea Room,The Grenfell House Museum, The Grenfell Dock and Tea House Hill. The Interpretation houses the gift shop, the tea room and an exhibit portraying the life of Sir Wilfred Thomason Grenfell.
- 2. Grenfell House Museum – Grenfell House is the restored residence of Sir Wilfred Thomason Grenfell. It is part of the Grenfell Historic Properties which also include The Grenfell Interpretation Centre, Grenfell Handicrafts, Tea House HIll & walking trail, the Dock House Museum and the Jordi Bonet Murrals at the Rontunda. Sir Wilfred was a young medical doctor who came to Newfoundland in 1892 and left behind a legacy of schools, orphanages, coop’s and medical services, which still exits today.
- 3. Dare Devil Trail – An Awesome view, worth the climb! The trail is highly difficult and one should proceed with great caution, allow 1 hour.
- 4. The Jordi Bonet Murals – These ceramic murals were created and fabricated by Montreal artist Jordi Bonet in 1967. One is immediately struck by the beauty and harmony of design and color. The tones of grey, blue, brown and jewel-like brilliance make the past come to life. Each of the eight murals has meaning relating to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador, their lives or the country in which they live. These murals are part of the Grenfell Historic Properties.
- 5. Fishing Point Municipal Park – Fishing Point is the meeting place for local residents and tourists alike. Experience hiking, fine dining, whale and iceberg viewing.
- 6. Fox Point (Fishing Point) Lighthouse – Absolutely must visit: The lighthouse on Fishing Point in St. Anthony. Spectacular views of the town and ocean. You may even see whales and icebergs.
- 7. Pumley Cove Trail – Try this 1.7-mile loop trail near Goose Cove East, Newfoundland and Labrador. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 40 min to complete.
- 8. Tea House Hill Walking Trail – Discover an important part of St Anthony’s history as you embark on a 20-minute hike to the top of Tea House Hill. As you hike the well-groomed trail, only a few minutes’ walk from the pier, your guide will introduce you to Dr Grenfell. This regional hero made a lifelong commitment to the people of St Anthony. In 1882, he pledged to “work on a coast that was ice-blocked and inaccessible for several months of the year.” Grenfell was devoted to improving the lives of local families as he practiced medicine, built hospitals, established schools and orphanages, and, when not working on the coast, traveled to the UK and throughout North America looking for support and labor. Along the way, you will stop at several spectacular lookouts on the trail, including the original site of the historical Tea House and the burial site of Dr Grenfell himself.
- 9. Whale Watchers Trail – A series of boardwalks and short stairways, which leads to an amazing look-out over the Atlantic ocean, underneath, the huge cliffs of Fishing Point (a must see). The lookout has a pay telescope – and is an excellent place for whale watching in season. This trail is easy 0.8-km return, and takes about 30 minutes.
- 10. Cartier’s View Trail – This 0.6-km trail is easy and takes about 30 minutes and is a part of a series of trails at Fishing Point Park. A perfect spot for a picnic.
