• Research the Kids Club – Parents can drop their kids off for free and enjoy some much needed time to enjoy the cruise.
  • Pack snacks and food – it must be pre-packaged and sealed.
  • Most Kids Clubs are for 2-3 years old or older.
  • Bring plenty of Over-the-Counter Medicine.
  • Most ships do not allow children to swim in Diapers.
  • If your child likes to take naps – get a balcony room. A balcony is a great place to get some fresh air and talk in normal voices.
  • Prepare for dirty diapers – bring Ziploc bags to minimize the smell.
  • Cribs are available for free.
  • HDMI cords don’t work on the TVs, so bring tablets or other electronic devices to entertain the children.
  • Bring silicone placemats to minimize messes on the tables.
  • Bring a nightlight. The cabins can be very dark.
  • Mealtimes are easiest in the buffet for managing children.
  • Search the schedule or the Cruise App for Kid’s Activities.
  • Keep excursions simple – boat rides or beach breaks are perfect.
  • Buy your child a passport – they are only valid for 5 years, but it makes Debarkation go much smoother.
  • Babies must be 6 months old to cruise.
  • Pharmacies in Port can be lifesavers!
  • Sunscreen is a necessity, but shirts and hats can help tremendously.
  • Make sure you get a Kid’s Lifejacket in your cabin. If one already isn’t there, just ask your room steward.
  • Understand the Muster Station with your kids – kids are given a wristband with their Muster Station on it. If a child is not with their parents in an emergency situation, Cruise Staff will escort the kids to the correct Muster Station.
  • Prepare for Seasickness – there’s always the possibility of them getting sick. Be sure to pack some Seasickness remedies.
  • Make sure Children Understand the Danger of the Ship’s Railing.
  • Book a ship with Water Slides.
  • Free Ice Cream!
  • Pack more diapers than you think you will need.
  • Consider Sun Protective Swimsuits.
  • Bring an Umbrella Stroller.
  • Always ask for the Kid’s Menu in any Sit Down Restaurant.
  • Check the daily schedule for Family Friendly Entertainment.
  • If your ship has an outdoor movie theater, plan a movie night by the pool.
