  • Get the Soda Package – it’s only a few dollars a day.
  • The Gambling Age is 18 on Cruise Ships.
  • Look for more active Excursions.
  • Use your Onboard Account to help teach your teenager Budgeting. You can always check your account in real time.
  • Don’t let teenagers (or anyone) sit or stand on the rails.
  • Teens (16+) need a Birth Certificate + Photo ID (or Passport) to sail.
  • Use the Cruise Line’s Apps to stay in touch with each other.
  • Buffets are great for Picky Eaters.
  • Be aware of Curfew Times – most ships they are Midnight or 1:00 am for passengers under 18 years of age.
  • If traveling with 2 or more teens – look to get a 2nd Cabin. This will give the Parents more space and privacy. Try to get connecting rooms if possible.
  • The Evening Entertainment is normally geared toward adults, so teenagers may not be interested.
  • Movies by the Pool are are great way to entertain teenagers – check the schedule or app for the list of movies and times of showings.
  • Take advantage of the Sports Deck – there is always plenty to do for teenagers. Mini-Golf, Basketball Courts and more.
  • Include teens in decision making.
  • LAY DOWN THE LAW. Explain the rules on Drugs and Alcohol. Think of a cruise as a weeklong party for your teens – whatever you worry about your teens doing at a party on land can happen on a Cruise.
  • Make sure to pick a Cruise Itinerary that will interest your teenagers. Look for fun activities at the Ports.
  • Let them connect with other teenagers.
  • Pick a Ship with dedicated Teen areas.
  • Let them sleep in late – unless there is an Excursion they need to be up at a certain time for.
  • Show up for the Meet and Greet – great way for teenagers to meet other teenagers.
  • Look for the Themed Nights on your Cruise – these are normally a lot of fun for teenagers.
