- 1 – Playa Progreso – The white sand beaches are shallow and have calm waves, making them ideal for water sports like swimming, kayaking, and windsurfing. he 4-mile pier is one of the longest in the world and is a common stop for cruise ships. The boardwalk, or Malecon, has restaurants, gift shops, and places to relax. Other attractions include Faro de Progreso, Reserva Ecológica El Corchito, and Pig Beach Progreso.
- 2 – Pig Beach Progreso – A beautiful beach with white sand, emerald waters and calm ideal for those traveling with children or those looking for a space to enjoy a calm sea. In addition to having the company of 8 incredible little pigs who were rescued from animal abuse and now receive medical attention, food and a safe space where they are sheltered, but who go out to enjoy the beach and the sea at noon. It is a completely free activity where you can see them, even caress them, but it is forbidden to feed them, although they accept donations of food for these beautiful little pigs. The beach has lounge chairs and umbrellas, but if you like you can bring your own and a cooler with drinks, this beach is pet-friendly, that is if you don’t forget to bring a bag to collect your garbage and leave it in deposits.
- 3 – Malecon Internacional de Progreso – This new boardwalk is located in the western part of the Progreso beach and joins the traditional boardwalk through the chocolate pier. This 1 kilometer long tourist walkway is accessed through an arch with the legend that says “Malecón Internacional de Progreso” its main attraction is a carousel that works in the afternoons with a beautiful view of the gulf.
- 4 – Bolom Balam – Bolom Balam (Jaguar, Jaguar in the Mayan language) is a great little leather shop located close to the bus drop point from the cruise ships that visit Progreso.
